Description

IN EXCELLENT MINT CONDITION AND ALL MATCHING AND WITH AN UNGROUND IMPERIAL MUM,  WE HAVE A VET BRINGBACK  NAGOYA PRODUCTION EARLY TYPE 99 RIFLE IN 7.7MM.  THIS IS AN EARLY PRODUCTION 4TH SERIES GUN THAT WAS MANUFACTURED AT THE NAGOYA ARSENAL. THIS WAS THE LARGEST PRODUCER OF THESE RIFLES.  THE TYPE 99 IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE CLASSIC WW2 JAPANESE BATTLE RIFLE AND WAS THE MAIN INFANTRY WEAPON THAT WAS EMPLOYED BY THEM IN THE ISLAND CAMPAIGNS.  THE MOST DESIRABLE TO COLLECTORS ARE THESE EARLY EXAMPLES THAT HAVE THE MONOPOD AND THE ELABORATE ANTI AIRCRAFT SIGHTS.  THESE WERE VERY WELL MADE STURDY DEPENDABLE RIFLES WITH SOME NOVEL FEATURES AND WERE JUST AS WELL MADE AS ANY CONTEMPORARY BOLT ACTION RIFLE OF THE ERA. THIS RIFLE HAS ALL OF THE EARLY FEATURES SUCH AS THE MONOPOD AND THE ANTI-AIRCRAFT SIGHT. IF YOU WANT A MINT EXAMPLE OF A TYPE 99 THEN THIS IS YOUR RIFLE.  THIS RIFLE CAME OUT OF THE ESTATE OF A USMC COLONEL WHO FOUGHT AT GUADALCANAL. THE RIFLE WAS BELEIVED TO HAVE BEEN BORUGHT BACK FROM THE SOLOMON ISLANDS. THE MOST NEAT THING ABOUT THIS RIFLE ARE THE 4 SMALL NOTCHES THAT ARE MARKED INTO THE TOP OF THE BOLT KNOB. THEY SURE LOOK LIKE KILL MARKS TO ME!
