Description

In 95% training used condition, we have a more than decent 100% original Colt Service Model Ace .22lr pistol.  This pistol, number 706 is one of 10 shipped to the Commanding Officer,  Springfield Armory on September 15, 1938 and was one of 175 procured that year.  Less than 4,000 blued models were made before the change to the Parkerized finish.  These extremely rare and highly sought after pistols were the first to incorporate the “floating chamber” invented by David “Carbine” Williams which increased the recoil to adequately simulate the recoil of the .45 service pistol. These pistols were in constant service for many years training recruits how to shoot so they are rarely ever found in any decent condition, indeed this example is well above average.  This is one of the most highly sought after Colt military pistols and they are few and far between.  We buy every one that we see.
