In 96+% very sharp condition, we have a rare and seldom seen Webley 7.65/.32 auto pistol, Known and so marked as the Metropolitan Police Model Pistol. This pistol was issued to the London Police who took them into service in 1911 to replace those chunky old R.I.C. revolvers that were becoming a bit dowdy after the turn of the century. The old Webley high polish blue finish like the Colts of this period was extremely fragile and its rare to see one this intact.
This is your classic Late Sherlock Holmes/ Agatha Christie, London Police issued pistol. These pistols were also heavily used by other commonwealth police forces and was quite popular with senior British officers. A nice example of a hard to find Webley with British Chief Inspector / London Bobby Bonafides .
