Description

News from the office:   We have another very active week coming up, there are a lot of new guns coming in this week.  Demand has picked up, especially for WWII era 1911’s and we have been sourcing a good number of mint 100% original examples to keep up with sales.

Most examples of WWII issued 1911/1911a1 pistols that we encounter are not factory original and those we pass on as we only want completely original examples that are investment grade for our clients.    Immediately after WWII, nearly all US Military issued small arms were arsenal inspected, overhauled & repaired before the vast majority were put into long term storage.  Over the years many of these weapons were sold or given to other countries as foreign aid or pulled out of storage for use in Korea and Vietnam or the National Guard.  Many of these guns received multiple arsenal overhauls during their service life.  Because of this constant attrition, finding original straight up intact excellent condition WWII .45’s is quite challenging.  Fortunately many officer’s retained and came back home with their side arms  and most of those remained intact.  Almost all of these mint, 100% intact artifacts now reside in collections but newly discovered examples do pop up from time to time.  It is a lot more difficult to track these pistols down than to sell them.  Most of our work is tracking these rare and hard to find relics and obtaining them; selling them is the easy part.

Please make an appointment if you are stopping by the office.   We are more than happy to pull something for you to look at if you have an interest; we just need to know in advance and don’t mind a visit.
