News from the office: As my somewhat bumpy recovery continues I’m continuing my re-integration into normal business operations. This will translate to a return to our high standard of photography as I have been able to resume taking photos of some of our new inventory and expect to be doing all of the pictures again by the end of April. This will give you a return to the clarity you need to more accurately view our offerings. I am also re-shooting some of the photos that did not meet our standards.
Our firm has a well deserved reputation of not selling “hack grade” firearms. Everyday Brett & I are offered guns and most do not meet high standards of condition. We only buy things that we would not be ashamed to have in our personal collections. We curate our offerings to this high standard because we want our clients to own the best.
When you buy a piece from us you are getting the benefit of 40 plus years of hardcore tradecraft. To that end we will be adding “Scotty’s Collectors Insight” comments to our new listings. Our goal is to give you an additional snippet of valuable insider knowledge on collecting and why we thought the item was significant enough that we wanted to offer it to you.
Except for our firm, all of our colleagues sell guns across the condition spectrum, from turds to treasures, and why not? It certainly makes good business sense just pushing iron in and out the door. But here we do things differently; Like the commercial says, when our clients do better we do better too. At Pre98, we do everything we can to look out after our mutual collecting interests with those with whom we do business with. With “Scotty’s Collectors Insight” we want to better inform you of what reasoning ,research and experience went into the decision to offer this piece in our catalog. We are very picky and that is always a win-win for you and us.
Please make an appointment if you are stopping by the office. We are more than happy to pull something for you to look at if you have an interest; we just need to know in advance and don’t mind a visit.
