Description

In mint crisp 100% original condition we have a WWII vet brought back Ultra Rare French Underground/Resistance clandestinely assembled MAS Mle 1936 service rifle.  This is  assembled out of finished and un-finished parts.  The bore is mint and it comes with the original bayonet.

In June of 1940, France Capitulated and an Armistice was signed with Nazi Germany.  At this time Patriots at the State arms plant MAS were able to remove some unfinished rifle parts before the Germans seized control of the factory.  These parts fond their way to the active French Resistance where they were assembled into serviceable rifles.

These rifles have some unique features that makes there identification as actual resistance used rifles 100% certain. The most obvious one being that none of the parts are serial numbered or arsenal inspected.   You will also note that not all the parts are treated with the standard black enamel protective paint, such as the nose cap and the receiver ring which are in the phosphate pre-paint condition.  Also not the rough crudity of the stock, these parts may have been fabricated when the rifles were assembled, although well made they are rough and the wood is not up to a quality used on the MAS made rifles.

Few of these rifles are know to exist and finding one this well cared for is a real find.  This is a must have item for those who like the more romantic and exotic weapons of the era.
