Description

this rare RSHSA/SS issued pistol just came in from an old collection.   In 98% mint crisp condition, with one factory original matching spine numbered magazine, we have a rare and highly sought after SS issued Walther PP pistol.  SS ISSUED PP PISTOLS ARE ABOUT 5 TIMES RARER THAN THE PPK’S! Around 24,000 SS issued PPK’s were procured but only around 6,000 PP Pistols were obtained, making them extremely rare.  The reason for this is that the Army was getting the Vast Majority of the PP pistols at that time.    This example is the very desirable “P suffix”,  type 3 variant which was produced in 1940, from the 5th Contract run.   This is a very clean completely un-messed with textbook example.

These pistols were procured to arm the RSHA/Gestapo and SS Police and Security units that streamed into Poland right after the invasion in 1939 to liquidate intellectuals and other perceived enemies of the Reich in order to pacify and terrorize the population.  In 1941 these units moved into Russia to continue the slaughter with the Einsatz Gruppen.  The nefarious past of these pistols have made them highly sought after by both collectors and students of history and they are among the most significant firearm/artifacts of the era.  These pistols with spine numbered mags and numbered slides were only identified as SS issue in the late 1990’s when archival records in Germany  were discovered that identified their issue to and use by the Reichs Security Apparatus.
