Description
In 92% condition, we have a Scarce WWI Canadian Military Colt 1911 Government Model Pistol in .45 acp. This pistol was shipped to the Canadian Government on November 14, 1914 part of a contract on only 5000 pistols that were shipped September through November of 1914 to the Canadians. The pistol is totally factory original with an excellent bore.
At the outbreak of the First World War, Colt sold 70,000 Model 1911 pistols to Various Countries but only 5,000 went to Canada and they are rarely seen. Most were probably lost in the fighting in France. This pistol is a great example of a very desirable WWI Canadian Military Colt.
