Description

In stunning, mint new all matching condition, we present to you an  all matching non-import marked U.S.  surcharged 1917  Remington Arms Made M1891 Mosin Nagant Imperial Russian Service rifle.   This is a textbook example of a Remington made Mosin Nagant.  This rifle has a beautiful walnut stock with the Imperial Russian Double Eagle Cartouche on the right side of the butt which you just never see on these rifles.  The rifle never made it to Old Russia as it was US surcharged and Eagle Head proofed on the bottom of the stock in front of the magazine well.

This rifle was part of the defaulted Russian contract that was purchased by the US government at the onset of WWI.  These rifles were used by the US Army for training, but more importantly they were also issued to US troops as well, most notably during the Siberian Expedition in 1919   This is hands down a mint stunning example; I have never seen a finer example of an American made Mosin Nagant Service Rifle.
