Description

In excellent all matching condition we have a fairly hard to find Terni Arsenal made 1939 dated Italian Army M38 Carcano Short Rifle in 7.35 caliber, with the original sling and scarce folding bayonet as well.  This is believed to have been an old import from Finland.  The M38 Short Rifle was the main Italian WWII Service Rifle in the North African and Mediterranean Theaters although it was only one of several widely used variants such as the long rifle and the ubiquitous carbine models with the long folding bayonets.

In 1940, a significant number of these rifles were shipped to Finland where they were desperately needed by the Finnish Army.  They were mostly deployed to rear echelon troops due to ammunition supply issues.  basically, the same reason why they were withdrawn from Italian Service early in the war.    For many years Ammo shootable ammo was hard to source but now its readily available and made by Stienel.
