In 98% all matching condition, we have a very scarce and rarely seen 1935 first year’s production Beretta Model 1935 Pistol that was issued and marked to the Fascist Royal Italian Airforce. The Beretta Model 1935 was in 7.65mm (.32 auto) caliber and was the sidearm of the Airforce and the Navy. The Army used the Model 1934 in .380 which was basically the same pistol.
The Beretta Model 1935 is an extremely compact and well designed pistol that stayed in production till around 1970, a testament to the soundness of the design. An Italian Airforce pistol of this early vintage could have seen action in the invasion of Abyssinia and in Libya, not to mention all of the early fighting the Italians did in WWII. AS you can well imagine, many of these pistols crashed into the Mediterranean or the North African Deserts so they are not easy to locate. This is a real prize for the Italian Military Collector and those that love Beretta Pistols.
