In 96% mint sharp condition, Ost Fleet property numbered, we have an extremely scarce and seldom seen Variation 2 Kriegsmarine with the Eagle/M prominently engraved on the right side of the frame and Osteen (East Sea Kiel Naval Station) property numbered on the front grip strap, Mauser Model 1934 Pistol. This is the rarest of these pistols and according the Jan Still’s “Axis Pistols”, only about 3,000 of the 2nd Variation Model 1934 Kriegsmarine pistols were thought to have been made…a rare Nazi era handgun!
This is a top example of one of the most sought after of German WW2 pistols. The pistol is all matching with a mint bore as well.
As you are aware the Naval service was the smallest branch of the armed forces so few pistols were allocated to them. Most of the pistols they were issued are in Davy Jones’s Gun Collection at the bottom of the North Atlantic!!!
