Description

I can say with a high degree of certainty that this is the only chance you will ever have in your long and happy life to own this extremely rare M1895 Norwegian Krag Cavalry Carbine.  This was manufactured in 1898; the first actual year of production, they were made from 1898 to 1906. This is all matching with a decent bore and the thing is in great shape overall.  Other than the placement of the sling swivels, this is identical to the M1895 Engineers Carbine.  they were manufactured concurrently from 1898 to 1906 and only a combined total of 9000 were produced.  They are exceedingly scarce in Norway and just a handful are known to survive in North America.  This is an antique firearm and can be shipped directly to you.

This is a very fine and compact rifle and would be great for deer hunting.  I can only imagine how handy a short compact carbine would have been to the Norwegian Resistance during WWII.  The Norwegian Cavalry was an extremely small and elite force in the Norwegian Army, they guarded the king.  There were never many of them as the geography of Norway was not suitable for large cavalry maneuvers.  And after all, how many horses can you get onto a Viking longboat?
