In excellent all matching condition except for the dustcover, like you rarely ever see them, we have a top example of a Mid 1930’s production Nagoya Arsenal 5th series Arisaka Type 38 Carbine. This is an example of a later production Carbine with the cupped buttplate. The bore is mint the stock cartouches are clear. This was manufactured in the final year of carbine production; the 5th series was the last full series of them produced. As you can see from the pictures this specimen is in top condition and is a real find for the Japanese Collector.
The type 38 carbine was a much handier weapon than the long type 38 rifle, and they were commonly encountered in heavy jungle fighting where they were quite handy. Certainly, one of the harder Arisaka variants to acquire in any suitable condition.
