In 98% very sharp condition, we have a very rarely ever seen Italian WWI Officer issued Model 1915 Beretta Pistol (Pistola Brevetto 1915 Calibro 9m/m Glisenti) This pistol was developed to replace the overly complicated and fragile Glisenti and Brixia Pistols. This design proved very successful and 15,000 were produced for the Italian Army from 1915 though 1918. This pistol is from the second contract run and we manufactured in late 1915 or early 1916.
These pistol are much larger than we normally are used to for Beretta pistols of this period due to the very large and somewhat powerful 9m/m Glisenti cartridge which was basically a slightly down loaded version of 9m/m Luger. These pistols served well during WWII and the survivors stayed in service until the mid 1930’s when they were completely withdrawn in favor of the Model 1934 Beretta. They were made available for Officer purchase during WW2 and they likely saw use with both the Italian Army and certainly with the Partisans during WWII. This is a Pistol that we seldom encounter and never this nice. One of the hardest of the WWI Military pistols to obtain.
