In 99% mint virtually new condition, we have a very rare Clandestine Non-Import Marked Chinese Export Model Type 59 Makarov Pistol. This is identified by the ZZ prefix serial number which was assigned to exported Pistols in the early 1980’s. There are no other markings that identify it as of Chinese Origin. Other than the serial number this is a sterile pistol with no identifying markings. According to Henry Brown’s Makarov book there are only around 25 of these pistols or so known to exist in the US so they are extremely rare. Would not surprise me if these pistols were intended for Chinese Security Agents operating outside of China. Certainly one of the most exotic and interesting Makarov type Pistols one could ever own.
