Description

In excellent mint crisp condition and all matching, we have an outstanding example of a late 1944 production Gustloff Werke  made bcd 4 coded K98k Service Rifle.  This is the very desirable all gray Phosphate Finish variant, what you might call the “Gray Ghost” of  98k’s.  These late gray guns are very desirable to collectors and the late bcd examples are the best looking.  This is a completely matching factory original example with a mint bore.  The stock has a very sharply struck Eagle/ H cartouche and is properly “C” marked as are all late bcd made rifles.  This is a premier grade and very significant variant to have in your collection.  The K98k rifle is perhaps the most iconic weapon of the German Infantryman and it was primary weapon to the end of the war.  These rifles are fiendishly collected and this is a really great example of late war production.
