Description

In very crisp mint condition, we have a fairly scarce Circa 1940 German Red Cross Enlisted man’s Hewer.  This large knife with a sawback blade was carried by medics.  The idea was that you could use the sawblade to cut tree branches to make splints and you could also hack off wounded arms and legs that were just hanging there with the knife side or just saw them off in an emergency amputation.  It probably worked pretty good to spread liverwurst as well.  This is a mint condition example and you can seen all the factory polish in the blade. Certainly one of the harder to find German WWII daggers.
