Description

In 98%+ MINT NEW condition we have a pristine example of the very well known and highly sought after Luftwaffe Issued and Inspected KÜ PREFIX  byf 41 date marked Luger.   The pistol is completely matching and is a textbook example of this extremely rare and desirable Luger.  The frame, toggle and barrel all have the Luftamt Acceptance stamp.  The bore is mint and it looks like it was hardly ever shot.  This is a classic example of what collectors call the  Luger, with three Luftampt inspection stamps and the use of replacement parts and a blue finish that was not as well done as Mauser production.

There has been more speculation about the origin and circumstances surrounding these mysterious Luftwaffe Lugers than any other WW2 Variant Luger.  The prevailing theory is that they were assembled in very early 1943 for the Luftwaffe out of leftover Mauser parts by an unknown contractor and what the code  stands for is now assumed to be the firm of  Adolph Kürschner – Metalwaffenfabrik in Bavaria, but this may never be definitively verified.  The only thing that we know for certain is that they were Luftwaffe Inspected and issued.  Certainly one of the finest examples that we have offered.
