In 98% mint crisp condition we have a Hungarian Army issued Fegyveryar made Model 37M Pistol still with its original unit marked holster. The caliber of this pistol is 9mm Kurz (.380) and the bore is mint. This pistol was manufactured from 1937 until 1944 and the serial number of this specimen dates it to 1940. Typical of the service pistols of this period, it was very rugged and overbuilt for the caliber it fired and was a highly reliable and very well made pistol. The Hungarian Army was nearly annihilated on the Russian Front and some of the last fighting of the European Theater was in Hungary. If you are collecting pistols from all of the combatants of the WW2 era, this is a very fine example of one that you will need.
Scotty’s Collector Insight…We tend to ignore or overlook the fact that the entire Hungarian Army fought with Germany on the Russian Front. They served along with Romanian and Italian troops and all of them were on the Russian front. Seeing a unit marked and named holster is not common. This is a great find.
