SOLD EXTREMELY RARE (3 KNOWN) LONG BARREL 1907 SAVAGE PISTOL, PORTUGUESE MILITARY TRIALS PISTOL, FROM THE BROWER COLLECTION
$2,650.00
Out of stock
From the collection of the Noted Savage Pistol Expert Bailey Brower, author of the definitive work on them Savage Pistols, we have a very rare Long Barrel 1907 Savage Pistol in .32 auto. This pistol has a very prominent 5 1/4 inch barrel that makes it unlike any other Savage .32 auto pistol around. There are 3 known examples of this pistol and it is believed that they were sent to Portugal in an effort to secure the Military Pistol Contract being a variant sent with a longer barrel. Ultimately the pistol was adopted with the standard-length barrel.  These longer barreled pistols were not adopted by Portugal, and it is believed that they were returned to Savage and then sold by them at a later date. The pistol has been refinished some long time ago. Of the other 2 surviving examples one is also refinished and the other is in extremely well worn condition. Â
There are 3 examples known to still exist and as you might imagine this is such an unusual looking pistol with the very long barrel that it will be a must have item for the serious Savage Pistol collector.
