This is a spectacular example of a Model 1902 imperial German Navy dagger, which includes an AUTHENTICATION letter from noted militaria expert, Bill Shea, owner of the Ruptured Duck. This dagger has been updated to a Third Reich example, with the addition of the eagle pommel cap. The entire piece is a sight to behold, and it actually measures a full 17 inches. It has all brass fittings including the very desirable GOLD WASHED hammered scabbard, which is virtually undamaged throughout. The ivory grip has a beautiful tone to it, and it retains the twisted brass wire grip. The cross guard in the 1902 version with the capstans. The blade is in excellent condition and a plain example. THIS IS HAS BEEN PERSONALIZED WITH THE NAME OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER, WHICH IS “V. PUFENDORF.” THIS WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT RESEARCH PROJECT, MAYBE GERMAN ROYALTY?!? This dagger is complete with its original properly tied, sliver bullion knot, which shows fraying in all the right spots.
OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF GERMAN NAVAL HISTORY!!!
