In 80% marine environment salt water hard used condition we have an extremely rare and seldom seen genuine German Navy Kriegsmarine Eagle M marked Viz35 Radom pistol. Â This is a very early Nazi occupation produced pistol in the pre-letter block serial number range, which would date it to early 1941 when the Nazis re-started production at the Radom factory. This is a textbook example of what are only estimated to be 1000-1400 pistols that were Eagle M marked. Â Genuine Kriegsmarine marked pistols (and we say this because there are a significant number known fakes) will have the following features, blued barrels, often no lanyard loop, serial range in the no-letter block or early “A” block, and at least part of the eagle is located beneath the take down slot in the slide.
This very scarce example is completely matching with a decent bore. This pistol is nice and sound mechanically but the gun has been carried in a rough and tumble marine environment, almost certainly on a small craft such as an S-Boote or other small craft with a lot of exposure to the salty spray and weather. I know this pistol looks rough, but most of the Navy Radoms that we have seen look like this and I can imagine that this was a much more comforting gun to carry on a small boat with a high likelihood of having to use it than a 1934 Mauser would have been.
