Description

IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, WE HAVE A SPECTACULAR WINCHESTER MODEL 97 WWI ISSUED TRENCH SHOTGUN. THE SERIAL NUMBER PUTS THE PRODUCTION IN LATE 1918, DEFINATELY IN THE LATE END OF THE  WW1 TRENCH GUN SERIAL RANGE.  THE STOCK IS SUPER NICE WITH THE ORIGINAL FINISH AND ALOT OF FIGURE IN THE WOOD, WAY NICER THAT YOU WILL USUALLY FIND.  THE LOCK UP IS TIGHT AND THE GUN APPEARS TO HAVE MORE STORAGE MARKS THAN ACTUAL USE.  THIS COMES WITH A NICE M-1917 BAYONET AND THE PROPER WW1 KERR SLING AS THEY WERE ISSUED.  MANY OF THESE SHOTGUNS WERE PLACED INTO STORAGE AFTER THE WAR AND WENT BACK INTO COMBAT DURING WW2.  THEY HAVE BECOME AN ICONIC SYMBOL OF THE MARINES IN BOTH WORLD WARS.  IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NICE GUN THAT COULD HAVE BEEN CARRIED IN THE TRENCHES OF FRANCE AND IN THE JUNGLES OF THE PACIFIC WE HAVE IT RIGHT HERE.
