Description

THIS IS ONE OF 2 M1917 RIFLES THAT WERE JUST FOUND IN AN OLD HOUSE IN WINCHESTER SITTING IN A CLOSET.   THEY WERE PROBABLY PURCHASED BACK IN THE 60’S FROM WHAT WE WERE TOLD.   This one is a WW2 wartime rebuild with the famously mysterious 3GM-K rebuild cartouche.  Surprisingly even to this day, no one is exactly sure who put these markings on the rebuilt rifles, but the best theory is that it was a wartime rebuild program at some part of the General Motors organization.  This is a very nice example of a typical wartime rebuild, made mostly out of Remington parts with some Eddystone parts as well.  This rifle has a very nice bore as well.
