WED FEB 11, DOCUMENTED, VERY CHOICE & RARE “US PROPERTY” MARKED 1903 COLT PISTOL, SHIPPED TO THE PENTAGON MARCH 1944 FOR MILITARY INTELLIGENCE, VERY SHARP!

In 96%+ very sharp condition, we have an extremely rare and obsessively sought after blued finish, U S Property Marked Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Pistol.  This pistol was shipped on March 31, 1944 directly to the Pentagon in Arlington, VA for Military Intelligence issue. 

According to the included Colt factory letter, this particular pistol was shipped to the Property Officer, Finance Department, Military Intelligence Division, the predecessor of the modern Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).  This is a textbook all matching example with the prick punch acceptance mark.   It is extremely rare, one of only 604 pistols that were shipped to the Military Intelligence Service during the war and one of the few surviving examples.  Please note the OSS received 2,928 pistols, while Military intelligence only received 604, making this an incredibly rare piece of WWII cloak and dagger!!!
