$1,650.00
1 in stock
In excellent all matching condition, we have an extremely desirable FN Brescia Carcano Modello Moschetto in 6.5mm Carano. This was the standard Italian Service carbine of WWII. This rifle was Likely surrendered to the Germans in 1943 and was sent to the German arms depot in Ingolstadt where it received the depot inspection stamp “HzaJt3″ on the wrist of the stock. These rifles were known by the German Designation Gewehr 209 (i) and they were issued to both regular German Army and Police units and also so the Volksturm late in the war. The stock is marked with a rare Crown/4ut/41 cartouche which represents the 4th Technical office in 1941, but these marking are known to appear on 1942-43 production carbines so it is not indicative of the date of production of the carbine.
So we have a rifle that was carried by an Italian Soldier possibly throughout the fighting in North Africa and the Mediterranean Theaters only to be surrendered and reissued by the Germans after the Italian Surrender in 1943. German marked captured foreign weapons known as Beutewaffen are of extreme interest to collectors. This will be a must have rifle for any serious Italian or German collector.
