Description

In 98% mint crisp condition, we have a mint new Early Scarce 1941 production British WWII Army Accepted  Webley and Scott Mark IV .38 /200 revolver Manufactured in 1941 and marked “War Finish”.  This is a very scarce early wartime production pistol of the Webley commercial revolver. These wartime production Webley revolvers were procured By the British Armaments Ministry to augment production of the Enfield No. 2 revolvers and were widely issued in 1939-45.  Almost all of the early 1940-42 production of these revolvers were issued to the SOE, The French Resistance and the various underground forces in all of the Nazi occupied European countriesThey did not see significant British Military Service until 1944, because the SOE was taking most of the production.  It is interesting to note that it was not until 1945 that these Webley revolvers was even officially adopted as a service sidearm.

It is a very rare event to find one of these revolvers of this very early production date and in such fine condition; we often see the 1944-45 production but one this early with the early commercial/military markings is an extreme rarity.
