Here is a really interesting vet war trophy grouping still with the bring back papers for both items! In 98%+ mint crisp condition we have a top example of the Infamous Japanese Type 94 Nambu Pistol, dated June of 1944, all matching to include the magazine. On top of that we have a lovely leather holster and a March, 1941 dated Japanese Army Signal Lamp. Both of these items are listed on the bring back war trophy paperwork that is still with these items after many long years.
This top condition Type 94 would be very hard to upgrade. While it would be a terrible product liability nightmare in our modern times with its exposed sear which would discharge the weapon if depressed, it was by the standards of the WW2 era still a very bad handgun. That being said, it was certainly an effective weapon if properly used and certainly much better than waiving around a sword just waiting to get shot. The Type 94 pistols were widely issued by the Japanese Army and Navy,especially to air crew and vehicle crewmen. Today they are avidly collected like any other widely encountered Japanese Small arms of the era. This is a top example with the pristine condition and the intact veteran provenance.
