Description

In all matching condition, we have a remarkably scarce French 1938 dated  WWII era Mle 1886 M93-R35 Lebel Carbine.  What makes this example so remarkable is that it is an all matching piece in exceptionally fine original condition for a French rifle, probably due to the fact that it was a WWII vet bringback.  The bore is mint and this comes with an original bayonet and very scarce original sling, plus a packet of 1939 dated ammunition.

These R35 carbines have a colorful history; serving as cavalry arms used by colonial troops in North Africa as well as with front line regular units of the French Army during the fight for France in 1940.  After the fall of France, captured rifles were used by the Germans as well as there Vichy Collaborators and some ended up with the Resistance as well.  This is a great example of one of the most commonly used French Service Rifles of WWII.
