WED JUL 29, WELL DOCUMENTED, VET WAR TROPHY, WALTHER ac 41 P.38 PISTOL, 2nd VARIATION, VERY CHOICE EXAMPLE WITH SOME NAZI SWAG TOO!

In 96% very sharp all matching condition, non matching magazine, we have a very hard to find 1941 Walther ac 41 coded P.38 Pistol.  This “f” block pistol is an early 2nd sub-variation with the high polish commercial grade finish.    This is a textbook example of an early 1941 Production P.38 and would be an important addition to any serious collection.   the bore is mint and the de-cocker works just fine.

We just received this pistol from the son of the vet who brought it back, who was Staff Sgt Lyle Russell of the 340th Ordnance Depot Company of the 321st Ord Batt.  Sgt Russell was extensively deployed in norther Europe from Normandy through to central Europe. along with the gun, we have pictures of him, his dog tags and some Nazi badges that he brought back as well as 3 pieces of 1944 dated currency.  His son Alan had previously donated his uniform to to a Military Museum in Michigan where it is still on display and he wanted the pistol to go to a collector who would be the caretaker of his father’s prized war trophy.
