In 97% MINT CRISP condition, we have a German WW1 DWM 1917 Lange P.08 Luger Pistol, commonly referred to as the “Artillery Luger” with a 1917 dated holster and a cleaning rod. This is all matching however the grips and mag have clearly been re-numbered. The bore is mint and it seems to have seen little combat use. This example is form late 1917 and does not have the fine tune sights.
The Long P.08 with its 8 inch barrel was often employed in the same tactical roles as the sub-machine gun in WW2, they were used to protect machine gun nests, artillery and also used in the assault role with the storm troopers. This is a top example of the most unusual looking of all the Luger pistols.
