In 96% very sharp condition, we have an extremely rare and important October 18, 1941 first Initial Nazi Contract delivered Astra 300 Pistol in .380 caliber. This is the very early 1st Type Variation, with the unusual very high grips, the early chamber markings and no Waffenamt. Only this first initial shipment of 5,500 pistols are found in this configuration, out of approximately 63,000 delivered to the German HeersWaffenamt Office, MAKING THIS THE MOST DESIRABLE NAZI ERA ASTRA 300 VARIANT. The pistol is all matching with an excellent bore.
The Astra 300 was an extremely rugged, accurate and well made pistol, and they were widely issued to the Luftwaffe during WWII. The Germans had very positive views of Astra Pistols from their use of them during the Spanish Civil War by the Condor Legion. Today they are one of the most avidly sought after of the German used Foreign contract pistols. This very rare early production variant is extremely desirable to collectors and will not last very long on the site.
