In 95% very sharp 100% factory original condition, we have a very choice example of the very scarce and hard to find Colt M1902 US Army Service Revolver. This model is commonly called the Alaskan Model or the Philipine Constabulary Model. This is an upgrade of the old Colt Model 1878 Double action revolver with some improvements such as the large trigger guard and oversize trigger to make it easier to fire in double action mode. Only 4,600 of this model were taken into service so they are quite rare and never ever seen in this top condition! This is a textbook example that bears the inspector marks of Odus C. Horney and Rinaldo A. Carr. It still has most of the fire blue intact on the trigger.
Many of these revolvers saw service in the Philippines in use by the Army and Constabulary at the turn of the century and saw service till at least the end of WWI. When you are fortunate enough to find one of these scarce pieces, they are usually completely worn-out, with not a lick of blue left, so this is a real find!
