IN 97% VERY SHARP ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH ALL CORRECT PARTS INCLUDING THE CORRECT EARLY “MD” MARKED SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MADE BARREL, THE CORRECT MAGAZINE, AND ALL THE PROPER S MARKED SMALL PARTS, WE HAVE AN VERY FINE 100% ORIGINAL TEXTBOOK EXAMPLE OF AN EARLY PRODUCTION SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 1911 US ARMY SERVICE PISTOL. THIS PISTOL WAS MADE ON NOVEMBER 7, 1914. IT HAS THE LONG HAMMER AND IS A MUSEUM GRADE EXAMPLE OF AN EARLY PRODUCTION PISTOL.
WHILE VERY WELL MADE THEY ARE NOT PRETTY GUNS LIKE THE COLTS, THEY HAVE A MUCH DULLER BLUE-GRAY LESS POLISHED FINISH WHICH GIVES THEM A DISTINCTIVE DULL LOOK. THE BORE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS WELL. THESE SPRINGFIELD MADE GUNS ARE VERY PROBLEMATIC TO COLLECT BECAUSE MOST WERE USED HARD AND HAVE NO CONDITION AND ON TOP OF THAT, THEY ALMOST NEVER HAVE ALL THE FACTORY ORIGINAL PARTS LIKE THIS EXAMPLE DOES. THIS IS MUCH NICER THAN WE USUALLY SEE THEM AND EVERY PART ON IT IS FACTORY ORIGINAL. IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE WERE ABLE TO LOCATE SUCH A NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE AND HARD TO FIND 1911 PISTOL.
