This is an attractive and absolutely original wartime example of the US Army Airborne Artillery cap patch, as worn on the overseas caps of US Airborne Artillery troopers prior to August, 1944. This pattern, with an embroidered parachute on a red backing, is regarded as an early type. It has a parachute emblem that is embroidered in cotton thread.
