IN new in the box un-fired condition we have an early production Walther P99 9mm Pistol. This comes with 3 16 shot magazines which is a great plus. The stiker fired P99 was the first successful pistol for Walther after several decades of over complicated and over priced flops such as the P88. Back in 1999 this was hands down a better pistol than the Glock with better ergonomics, accuracy and trigger pull. That is if you know your way around a pistol, most people do not, so the simpler to handle Glock remained the go to pistol for professional use.
The biggest issue with this pistol was/is the trigger, it is called a quick action trigger by Walther and it acted like a set trigger on a rifle; there is a take up to a second position, then only very light pressure will set it off like a hair trigger. Works like a charm on the range but if you carry it and are not totally aware of what you are doing you can inadvertently set it and then you are dealing with an unexpected very light touch off. I say this from experience as I have owned P99′s since they first came out and carried one for a few years. You should think of this as the 1st Generation striker fired Walther 9mm Pistol which further developed into the very highly thought of Walther PPQ and just a few months ago into the perfected Walther PDP.
These P99 Pistols have a devoted cult like following today and they are avidly sought after by those who appreciate and can handle them. All you need to do is check out the internet and you will read about how loved it is by many connoisseurs of lead slinging. In skilled hands they are tough to beat even today.
