In 95% condition, we have a 100% textbook example of a very rare and highly sought after G date (1935) German Navy issued S/42 code P.08 Luger Pistol. The Pistol is lavishly Early Nazi Eagle/M marked on the front grip strap and it is North See Fleet Property number of N1279. The pistol is all matching with the exception of the magazine which is a Navy mag from a very closely serial numbered pistol, #N1305. This is an “f” block pistol, all the known Navy pistols are from the d,e,f blocks. There are estimated to be only be 775 G date Navy Lugers; 473 procured for the Nord See Fleet and 302 for the Ost See Fleet that are from the G date 1935 production.
As you might well imagine, this gun is esoterically rare….most of them are sitting on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and of the handful that survived how many are this nice? The K and G dated Kriegsmarine pistols are the flashiest Nazi era Lugers you can get with their large Eagle/M markings. Simply put, when one is offered for sale and you collect Navy pistols you buy it…….
