IN 98++% MINT CRISP ORIGINAL CONDITION, WE HAVE A TOP EXAMPLE OF A LATE 1944 PRODUCTION ITHACA 1911A1 US ARMY SERVICE PISTOL.  THIS PISTOL IS 100% CORRECT AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY AS PER CLAWSON.  THIS PISTOL WAS ONE OF 4000 SHIPPED TO THE AUGUSTA ORDNANCE DEPOT, AUGUSTA, GEORGIA ON JANUARY 2, 1945.

IT BEARS THE DISTINCTIVE ITHACA INSPECTION MARK OF JOHN WOOD  ON THE FRONT LEFT TRIGGER GUARD WEB AND IS 100% FACTORY ORIGINAL.  THERE HAS BEEN MUCH INTEREST OF LATE IN THE ITHACA MADE 1911A1 PISTOLS.  COLLECTORS HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THEY DID NOT MAKE NEARLY AS MANY AS REM RAND DID.  WHILE NOT NEARLY AS SCARCE AS A UNION SWITCH THEY ARE NOT PARTICULARLY COMMON.  THIS IS A TOP CONDITION 100% ORIGINAL WW2 VINTAGE ITHACA THAT WAS HEADED FOR THE FIGHTING IN EUROPE.
