In 97% very sharp condition, we have a top example of a early Nazi production Slotted ViZ 35 Radom Pistol. This is from the “D” block which is towards the end of production with the slotted frame. Of course this is all matching and the bore is excellent. This pistol would have been produced in mid 1941 as a parts kit at the Former Polish State Arsenal at Radom under very draconian semi slave labor conditions. The parts kits were then shipped to Steyr in Austria where the Barrels were made and the pistols were assembled, also often by slave labor. The Nazis did not want complete weapons to be built at the plant for fear of them being stolen and used by the underground.
The ViZ35 was absolutely one of the finest weapons made from this era and they are avidly collected and cherished not only for the design but also for the history that they symbolize. Certainly one of my most favorite handguns for collecting. This example is very attractive and will be of extreme interest to serious Radom collectors and anyone looking for a nice early war ViZ.
