In Mint New Un-issued condition, carefully removed from the preservative “Mummy Wrap” we have a 1955 Production Lee Enfield No4. Mk2. Service Rifle. The Rifle was made at the Enfield Factory in Fazerkley and was part of the final contract run for the RAF. These rifles were imported into the States back in the 1990’s by Interarms and Century. Most were minty but issued, but a few were never issued and still in the wrap.
Most of those rifles were unwrapped after purchase as was this example. That un-wrapping is about the most wretched gun cleaning chore you could ever imagine! The work has already been done on this one for you! We have seen still mummy wrapped examples fetch as high as $2,600 recently so this is a really good value and probably a great investment. Absolutely the finest bolt action service rifle ever made, until just recently they were still used by the Rangers in Canada to fend off Polar Bears and Killer Walrus’s.
