In 95% very sharp condition, and 100% factory original, we have a Colt Model of 1911 US Army Service Pistol that was shipped on February 25, 1913, to the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois. This pistol is 100% factory original and is a textbook example. it comes with a Colt letter which is always a nice touch.  The roll marking of the slide is extremely well defined.  The bore is mint and the grips are very sharp.  This pistol has all the very early features such as the short hammer, rounded rear sight and a hard to find lanyard loop keyhole mag.
This is a very attractive extremely sharp looking early Colt 1911 US Army; these are nearly impossible to find this crisp; most were in constant service and reworked many times. Pistols such as this were carried into battle into Mexico in 1916, WWI in 1917 and would have still been in frontline service during WWII in 1941. This Pistol has seen a lot of history and has been in Harm’s Way and it deserves a great home in your collection, where it can bask in Glory. Â
