Description
In 95% condition we have a fine example of a Late Production Tokyo Arsenal made Japanese Army Type 26 Service Revolver. These late production pistols have serrated grips as opposed to the earlier ones that were checkered and the finish is not nearly as fine.
These Revolvers entered service in 1892 and by the turn of the century they were obsolete by contemporary standards. In spite of this they were still in common usage with the Japanese right up till the end of WWII and many were brought home as war trophies. No WWII Axis Pistol collection should be without one or two examples. The late production example with the serrated grips are highly sought after by collectors.
