THU SEPT 17, OUTSTANDING US WWII M1 GARAND RIFLE, DEC 1943 PRODUCTION, GAW CARTOUCHED, 100% FACTORY ORIGINAL AND CORRECT!

In excellent original condition, we have a December of 1943 production Springfield Armory M1 Garand US Army Service rifle.  This is not a restoration; it is a 100% original exactly as it left the Arsenal.   This is a great example of the famous US combat rifle that was carried throughout the war.  The bore is excellent and the throat gauges out at a 2 which indicated the rifle was not shot that much.  The stock clearly shows the inspection acceptance cartouche of George A Woody (GAW) who was in charge of the Springfield Armory at the time the rifle was manufactured.  

 General Patton called the M1 Garand the greatest combat implement ever devised and that is high praise indeed.  I was speaking to an old vet the other day and he said that they loved to carry a carbine, but when it was time to start shooting they loved the Garand because in his words “it really put them (the enemy) down.”  If you are looking for a nice example of the original as issued WWII service rifle here you go…….we have not handled one this nice in a good while.
