Description

This is a rifle that rarely ever is seen and never this nice.  We have what most collectors call a Mukden Mauser, but more accurately is known as a Manchurian type 13 Mauser Infantry Rifle.  The caliber is 8×57, and this example is all matching and in excellent condition.  These rifles are quite rare and highly sought after by collectors.  They are an improved version of the Gew98 Mauser Infantry rifle and were made on Austrian supplied equipment at the Mukden Arsenal in Manchuria.  They have some unusual  features, the most well known being that the cocking piece is enclosed in a protective shroud.  This is as fine of an example as you will ever see, and if you are interested in collecting Mausers or weapons of the Pacific Theater then this is a rifle you may want.
