Description

In very good combat salty condition, all matching down to the screws, we have a very scarce 1935 Mauser Oberndorf production S/42G code K98k German Army Service Rifle. The bore is strong but dark.  There is a period correct textbook example of an German depot Stock repair to the toe of the stock.  Otherwise this rifle is completely intact.  All the stock cartouches are present and fairly visible and most of the blue has gone to a blue gray patina.  The rifle is still with the original sling.  This rifle really speaks to you with that “been there done that look”  and you have to wonder what battles and campaigns it saw action in.  This rifle was certainly carried used and fought with, yet it is still in a very attractive honest condition that will attract a lot of serious collectors.  I have a well worn rifle like this my own collection with the look and its one of my favorites.
