This is an important and extremely interesting well documented Nazi Sturmabtielung (SA) marked Walther PP Pistol and the SA marked Akah holster as carried and brought back by US Army photographer T/4 Irving Katz of the 168th Signal Photographic Co.  He is said to have acquired this SA marked rig, modified the rare SA marked holster for convenient shoulder carry and wore it across Europe as his sidearm during the war and brought it back as a war trophy.  The pistol is an a textbook example of a known SA marking pistol and the pistol was manufactured in 1939.  This side marking is associated with later procured SA pistols.  The  Akah “Anuschat” style holster is extremely well marked on the inside, in fact it it the nicest NSDAP marked example I have examined.  The pistol comes with copies of photos from the service career of the Army Photographer which adds immensely to its poignancy.  This is a wonderful example of a very difficult SA variation to obtain.
