Description

In 97%+ mint crisp stunning condition, we have a top example of a pre war Colt 1911a1 US Army Service Pistol.  This pistol was shipped to Springfield Armory on November 21, 1941 less than a month before the Japanese Attack at Pearl Harbor.  This pistol is 100% factory original; the slide is matching it has the correct Colt hollow back grips and the small G Colt marked barrel that has a  mint bore.   It would be very tough to find a better example.  1941 was the last year that Government pistols were made in low production numbers and they are much scarcer than the later WB and GHD inspected pistols of 1942-1945.  RS inspected guns are highly sought after by collectors and they rarely show up this nice.

This is an extremely rare complete from the Colt box straight into a completely new 1941 rig.  Almost unheard of.  It was an Army Air Force issued rig, that was carried but not abused. All the constituent parts of the rig are 1941 dated, which is quite uncommon, but the most important item is the extremely rare BoyT-41 holster.  This holster is ULTRA RARE, it was from the 1941 educational order and is the correct holster for a 1941 Colt or a Singer there were only 500 made.  Truly an exception rig that went into service less than a month before Pearl Harbor.
