SOLD VERY SCARCE IMPORTANT EARLY FN MODEL 1899 PISTOL…….1901 PRODUCTION…..IN EXCEPTIONAL MINT CRISP CONDITION

In 98% exceptional condition, we have a very rare FN Model 1899 Pistol.  This is a fairly late production example and was made sometime in 1901.  This pistol is listed by serial number in Vanderlinden’s book so it has been known by collectors for some time.   Only 13,000 of these 1899 type pistols were produced before the upgraded and renowned FN Model 1900 was introduced to replace it.  We have only seen a few of these pistols over the years and none of them had any finish left.  To own one of these pistols in this exceptional condition is a huge achievement for the advanced pistol collector, especially those that collect FN pistols.  The importance of this pistol’s entrance into the market cannot be underestimated, it was a huge success that spawned a lineage of pistols that are still in use today.  This is the Browning design that started it all.
