In very decent combat salty condition and all matching, we have a top example of an early war production Mauser Oberndorf made 1939 dated K98k German Luftwaffe Service Rifle. This rifle is completely factory original except for an un-numbered front screw. The bore is excellent and the tiger striped walnut stock is quite beautiful; the side cartouches are all very clear as well. This is a top example of a Mauser made early wartime production 98k with all the early features such as no sight hood and the flat butt plate and milled bands. This is the poster boy of a 98k rifle in the classic configuration.
What makes this less than mint but still attractive rifle so cutlery fascinating is that it is a real-been-there-done-that Rifle; it has that used but not abused look and the best thing is that it has 7 kill marks!!! We believe that this rifle was vet brought back from Italy at the end of the war, but that is all we know. This rifle will speak to a lot of our clients and we are happy to offer it.
